They were built in 1825 by architect Charles Busby as Brighton had become very fashionable for the top tiers of society, and they were suitably impressed by the curved ‘Hove Cream’ facades with their Ionic and Corinthian columns. Although many of the houses have now been converted into apartments, they still attract many, and Brunswick is still one of the most prestigious addresses in the city.


This apartment takes pride of place on the first floor which was originally the grand reception halls in which entertaining took place. For this reason the ceilings are deliriously high, and festooned with the most impressive and beautiful plasterwork. The full height windows in the living room have the original curved glass to follow the line of the building, and these open to the balcony where you can drink in the breaktaking views of the surrounding architecture, the promenade and the sea.
