Full description

Set in (what my children at least consider) the best bit of the rolling road that links Torrington and Atherington, is this charming, hundreds of years old, thatched Grade II listed cottage, presented in as good a condition as I have seen them. This home is without a doubt attractive, as are its gardens, and whilst the gardens are elevated, they offer uninterrupted sunshine and views across some stunning scenery.
The home has been fully refurbished with attractive slate floors on the ground floor, a stone inglenook fireplace with multi-fuel stove and an attractive fitted kitchen, double shower and separate cloaks, all with high end finishes. Furthermore, there is an additional reception room (which also offers direct access to outside) which the current owners have used as an occasional bedroom, as a dining room and as, indeed, a snug. The two bedrooms on the first floor are each doubles, presented perfectly, in keeping with the rest of the home. With plenty of parking at the front of the property, there is also a hard-standing and gated gravel drive to the top of the garden which offers access for delivery of the LPG gas which fires the central heating, for the large holding tank for waste water to be emptied, or logs for the fire to be delivered.
The gardens contain three sizable sheds in the lawn area with a further shed at ground floor level which has plumbing and power for utilities. The home has been kept as a second home for most of its recreation and shows little signs of use, and subsequently, is now for sale with no onward chain.
Its location is best described as semi-rural, being just a few minutes drive from Atherington with its shop, or from Torrington where you can get everything you need. Barnstaple is just 15 minutes in the car and the A377 (which links to Exeter) is less than 10 minutes away.
Is this a home for everyone? Probably not, but if your are looking for a chocolate box cottage, with no work to have to do, parking, a large sunny garden and a semi-rural location, then this may well be your new home.
In order to view, please call the office 7 days a week and I would urge you to do so. For those who are about to rule it out because of its road side location, don't. I too wished to avoid a main road, for the setting of my new home, but in fact found the perfect home just a couple of miles away on the very same road. Remember, if the home were located anywhere else it would be tens of thousands of pounds more expensive. The only other consideration is for anyone over six foot, as the bedrooms ceilings heights do alter, but then that said, as one spends most time laying down in the bedroom, don't let that stop you.

Directions - From Torrington take the B3227 signposted South Molton and after approximately 5 miles, upon reaching the hamlet of Langridge Ford, the property will be found on your left hand side with nameplate and For Sale board clearly displayed.
