Why you’ll like it:
The eastern side of Salisbury Road is predominantly made up of purpose built developments, built in the latter half of the 20th Century, and this one has a corner plot, half way up on the right. It is low rise with a neat exterior and entrance lobby, with a secure entry system which leads you to the stairs and lift to take you to the second floor. From here the open walkway runs to the right, where your door is clearly marked.
Once inside, you can tell this is a sizable apartment, with depth, and a line of sight right through to the spacious living room ahead. Passing a deep cupboard for coats and shoes you come to the kitchen which is first on the right. This is a well proportioned room, with ample units in buttermilk cream, topped with practical, light wood effect surfaces. Below these there is space for a freestanding washing machine, a cupboard for a tumble dryer (in which the boiler is also located), and a tall freestanding fridge freezer. The gas hob and electric oven are integrated however, and there’s some open shelving with hooks for pots, pans and utensils.
The hallway widens at the end into a T shape, where the family bathroom is first on the right. Much like the kitchen, it is a good size, and whilst it is internal, it is well ventilated, and has a frosted window through to the kitchen to access some natural light. It has white tiles on the walls, and a white bath suite with a shower above, and whilst it is in perfect working order as it is, there is still some scope for improvement, and to add value if you chose.
The living room has a deep, square bay window facing west, which looks out over the beautiful Victorian townhouses opposite. From here you can access the balcony which is a lovely spot to sit or dine al fresco during the summer months, but also when it cools down as it is covered and has space for a portable heater. Inside, the fawn grey carpet is brand new, complementing the dove grey of the walls, and there is plenty of space for relaxing sofas and chairs.
The master bedroom is next door so it shares the same orientation, and is of a similar size with a wide picture window. Bedroom two is opposite, and looks out to the internal courtyard. It is a little smaller, but it would still be suitable for professional sharers, and it has a wall of built in wardrobes to optimised the floor space.
This is a fantastic opportunity for first time buyers looking for a bit of space in a favourable location, or indeed for investors looking for a popular buy to let - either way, it is sure to attract the attentions of many.
Bear in mind:
The apartment next door has removed the airing cupboard in the hallway to create more room in the kitchen for an extended dining space.
“We love the space this flat provides, and also the fantastic location. You have so many bars, cafes and restaurants to enjoy at the bottom of the road; it is tempting to eat out every night!”
