Walton is well known for its pier (the second largest in the country), its yacht club and marina. At the top of the Naze tower (which is on a cliff) you can enjoy panoramic views of Walton backwaters, Harwich, Felixstowe and the Suffolk coastline. Below the Naze tower on the beach is London clay which regularly deposits a large amount of fossils including shells and sharks teeth. Walton also boasts an award winning blue flag beach on a clean sandy seaside location which is ideal for summer days out or even winter walks. A great variety of wildlife can be found on Walton’s famous backwaters, where there is currently over 70 seals, stunning birds and different shoreline insects to see, which you can enjoy whilst having a lazy bankside walk.
