The Property
Melkridge Farmhouse is an attractive traditional Northumberland farmhouse constructed of local stone under a slate roof. In recent years the property has undergone complete refurbishment and now offers a stylish and contemporary finish coupled with retained charm and character.

Internally, the house provides well laid out, comfortable accommodation with generously proportioned rooms. The front door leads into a porch and on into an entrance hall with stairs up to the first floor and providing access into two spacious reception rooms. The sitting room, which has a beautiful open fireplace with limestone surround, cast iron inset and granite hearth, has a window overlooking the front garden and open countryside beyond. Off this room is a generous study, which runs the full depth of the house and has windows to both the front and rear. A second reception room, currently used as a formal dining room, has a period open fireplace with decorative slate surround and tiled inset and hearth. To the rear of the house is a superb kitchen fitted with a range of hand painted units with granite work surfaces, circular larder unit and space for a range-style cooker and fridge/freezer. A stone flagged floor leads into the breakfast room which offers ample space for everyday dining and has an exposed stone fireplace housing a wood-burning stove. A useful utility room/back kitchen, fitted with a range of units, and a cloakroom/WC, complete the ground floor accommodation.

The first floor has four sumptuous bedroom suites, each with individual en-suite facilities of different styles. The master suite includes a spacious bedroom with original fireplace and impressive en-suite bathroom comprising bath, separate double shower, wash hand basin, low level WC and bidet, all complemented by modern tiles. The second bedroom overlooks the front garden and has a contemporary en-suite bathroom, enhanced by tasteful ceramic tiles. There are two further double bedrooms, one with a range of fitted wardrobes, and both benefitting from well fitted en-suite shower rooms with stylish tiling.

Externally
Externally, the formal front garden has views over open countryside to the west and is laid mainly to lawn with a variety of plants and shrubs.

To the rear is a shared gravelled courtyard, with private parking area for two cars which leads to the integral large single garage. The garage has power and light, is fitted with a sink and plumbed for a washing machine.
