The Great House is Grade II Listed of Special Architectural and or Historical Interest. The house dates back to the late C18 and is built of red brick under slate hipped roofs. The Great House has been in the same ownership for nearly 50 years and is considered as one of the best properties in the village due to the classic and substantial accommodation the house offers and it being surrounded by some delightful formal gardens. There are attractive views of the church to the north, the castle to the west and on the first floor, the River Ore to the south west.
