Why Harwell Estates love this stone built cottage...

Martins Cottage offers a wealth of charm and character, it is set in the most idyllic of locations and would make the perfect weekend retreat, holiday bolt hole or even first time purchase. If you are looking for a great little first time buy or "escape to the country" then look no further than Martins Cottage. This great little stone built cottage offers single floor accommodation which is surprisingly spacious yet snug at the same time. You will find a great kitchen/diner with a "rustic feel" range of wall and base units along with a super Belfast sink and timber worktops. The lounge area offers a log or multi fuel burning stove which packs out enough heat to warm the entire cottage, even on the coldest of winter days. The master bedroom suite is large enough for a double bed, all the bedroom furniture you would require and has the added benefit of a mezzanine storage floor. The house bathroom offers a bath with shower over, a hand basin and a WC. The walls are part tiled in white with a neat mosaic tile border. Everywhere you look inside you will find interesting nooks and cranny's, every inch of space has been cleverly used and a rustic "country theme" flows throughout.

Outside and to the side of the cottage you will find parking for several vehicles, in front and behind timber gates. To the rear you will be surprised to find plenty of outside space to include patios for alfresco dining in the summer months, large areas laid to lawn for safe child or pet play and unbelievably stunning views. This great little cottage is more than just a home or weekend retreat, it is a lifestyle, set in one of the most enviable locations. If you enjoy peace and quiet or long country walks, maybe both, then Martins Cottage could just be the base that you have always been looking for. To arrange a viewing, contact Harwell Estates without delay any day of the week between 8am and 8pm.

We have been informed by the current owners that there is a Local Occupancy Covenant (106) currently attached to Martins Cottage which they are in the process of trying to remove by legal process. Please contact Harwell Estate for more information and further updates on this Restricting Covenant.

Individual room descriptions and measurements are available upon request however we strongly recommend you arrange a viewing to fully appreciate the features and benefits of this property.

Why Harwell Estates love Healaugh...

Healaugh is a delightfully sleepy hamlet just 1 mile west of Reeth, in days gone by Healaugh featured a school, chapel, post office and shop. However, nowadays the hamlet is just a pleasant place to rest and eat your packed lunch whilst sitting on the lichen-encrusted benches. Snuggling below the prominent Calver Hill, the village name comes from the old English (heah +leah) meaning high clearing or wood. A babbling brook does, in fact, flow down the gill behind the village through a veritable arboretum. The original village was more likely higher up near Daggerstones and the other dwellings on the southern slopes of Calver Hill. The beautiful cobbled square and its bench are a welcome resting place for Duke of Edinburgh Award expedition groups and Coast to Coast walkers taking a breather before their final push to Reeth for the night. Nearby are a fine set of stepping stones across the Swale which make a circular walk possible from Reeth when the water levels allow. Is this what you have been looking for?
