The Story

"I have maintained the farmhouse style: there are beams in the dining room where we also have hung a large steel chandelier," he said.
The sumptuous home features many luxurious touches, especially in the bathrooms where Villeroy & Boch pieces have been brought in.
"The upstairs bathroom is quite special because it has gold-plated fittings shaped like swans, which shoot the water out into a large circular bath we bought from Harrods of London when we first moved here."
The drawing room boasts a coal fire, which, through the winter months, is kept alight 24 hours a day.
"I like to sit in the drawing room in the evening and it is beautiful and romantic when the fire is burning."

BY THE WATER
Across the terrace and lawn the inviting swimming pool has its own changing rooms and is adjacent to a bar perfect for entertaining friends and families.
"We have had held a lot of parties here over the years; my late wife used to organise an annual charity event when we would put up a marquee next to the pool and have about 100 people here," he said.
Other facilities include a fully-equipped gymnasium and games room in a separate annexe to the main house. This used to be a farmworker's cottage and could easily be utilised as a granny annexe or holiday let.
Also in the grounds are a large barn and an orchard with a variety of fruit-bearing trees, including apple, plum, pears and cherry.
"It is beautiful walking country and I like nothing better than to take my sheep dogs for daily walks through the farm, along the river and back up which is about three miles," he said.
WHERE THE HEART IS
Not only does Tyn Y Pwll farm benefit from a rural setting, but it is also one a mile away from the villages of Peterston-Super-Ely and Pendoylan.
"Both villages have pubs and restaurants and then we are only five miles from Cowbridge, which has some nice boutique shops, and only five miles from Cardiff and the city airport.
"I have apartments in London, Marbella in Spain and Monte Carlo, but now the children have grown up and left, this place is too big for me," he admitted. "I will be very sad to let it go."

THE HILLS ARE ALIVE
The Rhondda Valleys, comprising the two valleys of Fawr and Fach, are probably the most well-known of the South Wales valleys.
They are notable for their outstanding scenery - visitors are often stunned by the beauty of the area, which includes steep-sided forest and heather clad hills.
With the arrival the mining in the area came the Baptist chapels and the Rhondda Valley become strongly connected with the nonconformist Christian movement.
It is also renowned for the singing voices of the strong male voice choirs that sprung up as a result of the mining industry.

Cardiff Airport is also within easy reach, just a short 25 minute drive away.
