To book your appointment call 01206 545476 Spectacular detached family home set at the end of a long private drive with idyllic views over its own grounds which include mature gardens, paddocks and a lake. This delightful house sits in totally peaceful, private grounds with access footpaths down to the sea wall, marsh and creeks, yet still has the advantage of being on the edge of the town of Brightlingsea which is convenient for the commuter, with regular trains via Wivenhoe Station to London Liverpool Street (65mins)

Perfectly Placed Set in a lovely, rambling garden, this timber-framed family home first caught the eye of the current owners when they were looking for the perfect holiday home. "We wanted something rural, but within really easy reach of the coast, and ideally a great beach. This place ticked all those boxes straightaway; it was love at first sight!" and such was the draw of the place, that it eventually became the family home. "The children absolutely love it here, and what's not to love…They can roam freely, enjoying the outdoors through the seasons, and with the sea so close, they really have the best of both country and coast." Set down a quiet country lane, with only one near neighbour, who, as the owner says, 'you wouldn't even know was there', this is also a fantastic party house, as we hear, "You can have a house full, and by that I mean two or three families, or six couples, down for the weekend, and make as much noise as you like without disturbing anyone. It makes for a really relaxed atmosphere when friends come to stay, and we have a constant flow of return visitors as a result!"

Family Time The interior of the property was rather old-fashioned but it has been transformed by the current owner with great flair, into a design-led but wonderfully warm and welcoming family home. "I have had such fun creating an interior space that is certainly not what you would expect on first sight, from the downstairs cloakroom, with its luxury textured woodland wallpaper, up to our new gallery style landing, painted in a lovely Farrow & Ball grey, to the Neville Johnson wardrobes and Matthew Williamson wallpaper in our master suite." There is plenty of space here, of that there is no doubt, and the ground floor offers a whole host of options when it comes to spending time together, even on the wettest day of the year, as the owner enthuses, "We've so much room here that we never get under each other's feet, but equally we do love spending time playing games in the sitting room, or enjoying a family movie in our family room, and if we want to party after the children have gone to bed, it's not an issue, as their bedrooms are right at the other end of the house." The kitchen is where the family tend to get together for meals, and it is lovely and light, and again, in a great location when it comes to parental supervision, "The kitchen is brilliant for a family, with its five windows overlooking the garden, and doors straight out on to the patio, I can keep an eye on the children when they're outside, and the playroom is next door, so even indoor play can easily be supervised whilst cooking the supper."

A Child´s Dream Home Of particular note are the views that you enjoy from the house, as the owner is keen to explain, "This house has amazing views from every window, which stretch out over the gardens and out to the countryside beyond. It's so inspiring, and I particularly love the views out over the lake from our master bedroom." And in the mornings and evenings on a clear day you are in for a real treat, as the owner adds, "You see the sunrise from the kitchen windows, and watch it going down over the lake. This has to be one of the truly wonderful things about this place; it's in a magical setting, and you really feel at one with nature and your surroundings." The gardens are extensive, with lovely play areas, a healthy vegetable patch, fruit trees and seasonal colour from roses and perennials, and these give way to stables and paddocks, and a stunning lake, and the grounds are teeming with wildlife, but these are not the only regular visitors. As you can imagine, with so much to offer, this family home has seen many weekend guests over the years, as the owner explains, "We love having a house full and whatever the season, it works brilliantly. In the summer, we camp in the garden, take the boat out on the lake, wander down the path at the side of the house to the estuary, or just hang out on the patio, which is a real sun trap. It's a fabulous Christmas house too. You couldn't wish for more and I am very sad to say goodbye to this wonderful family home."
