The Story

Ashmore Hose is a wonderfully spacious traditional family home backing onto ancient woodland.

BEAUTIFUL SETTING
Walking through the woods or relaxing in their large garden, the owners of Ashmore house have loved their spacious country home. The six-bedroom house overlooks an area of outstanding natural beauty and has a large garden with an outdoor heated swimming pool. “It is in such a beautiful setting and has a really rural feel to it, despite being so convenient for London.”

WELCOMING HOME
The property dates back to 1926 and is located in Jordans, which has strong historical links to the Quaker movement. The house has been modernised over the years but has managed to retain many of the period features including intricate cornicing and an
ornate fireplace in the dining room.
“It has an open fire that we light at Christmas, which is just lovely,” she said. “In fact, this is a real ‘Christmas house,’ we always have guests to stay at that time of year and put up two large trees, which look fantastic.”

PEACEFUL SPACES
The drawing room is at the front of the house overlooking the garden and has a wonderfully quiet, calm, atmosphere. Here the owners relax and watch television or listen to the radio. This is a quiet space, which is filled with light, and the perfect place to sit and read, she added.
“The kitchen is perfectly positioned, running across the rear of the house. It is a very modern and looks out on to the gardens and woods,” she said. The master bedroom also has lovely views.

LEISURE AND PLEASURE
With an outdoor swimming pool and large gardens, Ashmore House is the perfect place to enjoy leisure time. The owners relax around the pool with friends during the summer months and walk in the woods all year round.
“It is perfect for anyone who likes to spend time in the countryside,” she said. “It is also an ideal place to work from. There is an area that can be used as an office. It is perfect as it has its own entrance.”

PERFECT LOCATION
The current owners have spent a magical time at Ashmore House, which is in a superb location for accessing other places in the country.
“It has been a lovely place to live,” she said. “It is so beautiful here. This is a wonderful family home, which is perfect for anyone looking to live in a pretty, rural setting.”
