LOCATION The park is positioned on the outskirts of the quarry town of Bethesda, just outside the Snowdonia National Park and situated within mature woodland right at the mouth of the superbly picturesque Nant Francon valley, leading to some impressive scenery and some of the higher mountain peaks. The park runs adjacent to the River Ogwen with the excellent 'Lon Las Ogwen' footpath/cycle route located on the far side of the river bank, allowing for easy connections between the park and the city of Bangor. Bethesda offers a good range of amenities and services including numerous leisure facilities of a leisure centre, rugby, football, cricket and bowls clubs as well as numerous cafés and public houses. There are also primary and secondary schools and an extensive modern health centre. The village is also home to the now infamous and hugely exciting Zip Wire attraction - the longest in Europe situated high in the adjoining slate quarry. The university city of Bangor, roughly 5 miles distant, offers a wide range of High Street shops, services and recreational facilities and a District General Hospital. The nearby A55 Expressway is the main arterial road between Chester and Holyhead and leads to the numerous attractions off the northern coastline, the Isle of Anglesey, including Ireland.  

PARK FACILITIES The park has a main reception, shop, club house/restaurant and bar, launderette and children's play area. The nearby Ogwen river, which meanders its way through the nearby Nant Francon valley spills down a nearby rocky section and is noted for its salmon and sea trout. Fishing is available in the river but not on the Park (please ask at reception about permits or licences). Entertainment includes live music, pool tables, video games and satellite television.
