Full description

Holme Farmhouse forms part of the property once owned by the Percies, Lords of Kildale, and Earls of Northumberland until the death of the eight Earl who shot himself during his imprisonment in the Tower of London in 1585. The property then passed to the Baliols, from whom the estate descended to the Eures. It continued in the possession of that family until the year of 1609 when it was sold by Ralph Lord Eure to Sir David Foulis Knight who came from Scotland with King James I, Coffer to his sons. The property eventually passed to Mary, the only child of the eight Baronet, Sir William Foulis. Mary married in 1850 to Philip, second Lord De L'Isle & Dudley. The property was then finally sold by their grandson in 1949 to the current vendors grandfather.

With stunning views to the front aspect, this substantial Grade II listed residence sits well within its plot, with generous rooms throughout. Offering five bedrooms, four reception rooms, a double garage and a triple garage, this spacious property is ideal for any growing family.

The peaceful village of Battersby is quietly situated between Kildale and Ingleby Greenhow, with stunning views of the Cleveland Hills and open countryside, Battersby is just a pleasant drive away from the main commuting links of the A172 & A19. With close railway links and an array of amenities in the neighbouring villages of Ayton & the market town of Stokesley, Battersby is ideally situated to provide quiet village life whilst providing everyday essentials just a short car journey away.
