General Remarks & Situation - This well established family owned zoo known as the Animalarium is a popular visitor attraction on the Welsh tourist trail and is open all year round. It is situated in the heart of the beautiful seaside town of Borth which lies 6 miles north of the University town of Aberystwyth. The Animalarium is within walking distance of the beach, local holiday parks, hotels and the mainline railway station. The town of Borth was voted the best place in Wales to bring up a child and has excellent schools and transport links.

Although visitor numbers have doubled over the last 10 years, and have increased again in the current year, there is still huge potential for further expansion of both the Animalarium and its visitor numbers. The Animalarium is currently spread over 8 acres, including a recent addition of an African lion house and enclosure. The Zoo features a reptile house with large constrictor snakes and lizards, a crocodile house with caiman and turtles, a petting barn, stables and animal enclosures including African Lion, African Leopard, Ocelot, Eurasian Lynx, African Antelope (Lechwe) Bennetts and Parma Wallaby, Raccoons, Coati, Emu and Rhea. Also Patas, Capuchin, Vervet and Squirrel monkey houses, birds of prey, giant tortoises, meerkats, Ring-tailed and Ruffed Lemurs. There are many Bird aviaries, including endangered species. The enclosures, ponds, paths and visitor seating areas are all well maintained and the whole area is planted with trees and shrubs.

There is also a hard surfaced visitor car park plus cafeteria, gift shop, children's play areas and visitor toilet facilities. The zoo is being sold complete with all equipment, fixtures, fittings, website, quad bike and trailer and tools and has a full zoo licence which was renewed in 2014 together with 'Stock at Value'. The Animalarium has established links with colleges, Universities, schools for educational programs and with other zoos in the UK for animal exchange programs. The owners are reluctantly selling after 15 years due to retirement.

There is a further 4 acres of land now being used for grazing.

There is a cafe, a souvenir and gift shop.

There are two outdoor play area with climbing structures and slides. In addition there is an outdoor sandpit with 'Sit on' diggers, a Wendy house and wooden rocking toys, together with a indoor ball pool.
