Croftend is situated in prime agricultural country in Aberdeenshire with relatively stone-free land, being capable of producing a wide range of cereals in addition to being excellent grazing land. The subjects are situated 5 miles west of Insch and 9 miles south east of Huntly in the county of Aberdeenshire.

Insch is accessed from the B9002. On crossing the railway line take the second exit to the left and follow this road to the T junction. Turn right and follow the road for 3 miles, turning left.
