Full description

An unusual (and virtually detached) dormer bungalow set on the banks of the Penpol Creek and enjoying fabulous creek views and a separate waterside garden with quay and direct frontage to foreshore with outhaul.

In most respects Restormel would be classed as a detached dwelling but the flat roof of the building set at a lower level abuts the lower wall of the bungalow. Built originally in the 1960's it has been the cherished home of the present owners for very many years and in recent times it has been completely re-modelled, extended and upgraded. It is now a very comfortable home offering a versatile arrangement of accommodation with a main living space and two bedrooms on the ground floor and the master suite with balcony at first floor level.

The property commands exceptional views over the Penpol and Restronguet Creeks and has the additional benefit of a separate waterside garden with its own quay and outhaul. Owing to the location and the nature of the building being geared for low maintenance the property is ideal for retirement but with a relatively limited garden it is also suitable as a "lock up and leave" holiday home. The present owners are relocating to be closer to family.

The hamlets of Point and Penpol combine to form a residential community about five miles to the south of Truro. Penpol and Restronguet Creeks are very popular with boating enthusiasts and provide easy access to the sailing waters of the Fal Estuary (Carrick Roads). Local facilities are available in Carnon Downs (about one and a half miles) whilst the Cathedral city of Truro provides an excellent shopping centre, a main line railway station, major hospital and a good selection of both primary and state schools. The Hall for Cornwall provides all year round entertainment and there are golf courses at nearby Killiow and Truro. The port of Falmouth is about eight miles away.

The bungalow started life as single storey flat roof dwelling but the current owners have remodelled and extended the property under architects supervision. It now has comfortable accommodation on two floors and with most rooms taking advantage of creek views. Windows are double glazed and new "German" storage heaters provide excellent background heating.
