LOCATION Parys Uchaf is a recent and on-going development incorporating a mixture of homes to suit all styles, tastes and budget situated within the popular hamlet of Bull Bay adjacent to the golf course and enjoying an elevated position with many properties blessed with exceptional sea views. And if you happen to choose a home which doesn't have a view, don't fret as you won't be missing out too much - the spectacular and rugged coastal scenery is practically on your doorstep!

Bull Bay enjoys the distinction for being Wales' most northerly settlement and borders an AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) - which encompasses much of the immediate coastline stretching towards Amlwch to the east, Cemaes to the west - for those who haven't ventured to this corner of Anglesey, you'll find the scenery quite mesmerising. Places of initial interest either side of Bull Bay will be the lighthouse at Point Lynas located beyond Amlwch and the natural cove of Porth Wen lying in the opposite direction. Porth Wen is home to an abandoned Victorian brickworks and really stands out against this spectacular and rugged bay. The quartzite rock in the vicinity was rich in silica, making bricks from Porth Wen particularly suitable for the steel industry. It seems work stopped here around 1914 but did struggle on until 1949 partly due to changing economics at the time and the struggle vessels sometime had in reaching and leaving the harbour in inclement weather. The position of Bull Bay means that at certain times the mountainous outline of The Isle of Man can clearly be seen on the horizon, lying less than 50 miles to the north!

Bull Bay is also home to a popular 18 hole golf course, a course which rivals that other well-known golf course at Nefyn on the Llyn Peninsula for its superb views - playing golf will never be the same! The main thoroughfare of the A5025 passes through Bull Bay, offering easy and convenient travel to nearby Amlwch but also crosses the north of the island towards the ferry port at Holyhead. This in turn allows easy access to the main A55 expressway which crosses the entire island onto the mainland and beyond.

A good and varied range of amenities, leisure facilities and schools can be found in Amlwch which is roughly 1 mile. This historic town has a fascinating history due to the discovery of vast amounts of copper and sulphur on Parys Mountain. Amlwch was well and truly put on the map by the 18th century due to this discovery, the town becoming the second largest in Wales at that time and dominated the price of copper the world over - copper from the region was shipped from the fascinating harbour worldwide, even used to sheathe the bottoms of Nelson's ships! While the wheels of copper extraction may have long ceased, it's still a bustling town worth exploring with the copper mines heritage trail and port well worthy of inspection. As mentioned, Amlwch has a wide range of amenities including a good selection of shops, schools, leisure facilities, pubs and restaurants and a modern health centre. The town is also served by a regular bus service.

The principal shopping town of Llangefni, also the administrative centre for Anglesey lies roughly central within the island whilst the major port town of Holyhead also has a vast range of amenities and services and offers regular sailings to Ireland. Anglesey has much to offer in the way of sailing, water sports, rock climbing and motorsports together with the fantastic coastal path (which passes through Bull Bay) offering some 125 miles of breath-taking coastal walks.
