The Story

EXQUISITE INTERIORS
Built by renowned Surrey company Remus Construction and Development, Aragon House offers approximately 5,605 sq ft of accommodation over three floors. The ground floor features generous family living areas and lavish entertaining space while the two upper storeys comprise five sumptuous bedrooms, complete with en suite bathrooms.
“Everything about the house is very individual: each of the bathrooms was fitted out in a style of its own, for example,” she says. “We have complemented what was here already by decorating all the rooms to a very high standard as well. I spent a lot of time down at Chelsea Harbour choosing wallpaper, curtains and fabric to go with the house. My aim was to enhance the warm and friendly ambience the property already had; I wanted the colours to be quite subtle and to work with the character of the house.”

GRAND RECEPTION AREAS
For the past five years the family have relished all aspects of life at Aragon House and have enjoyed making the most of its exceptional spaces.
One of the most stunning areas of the house is the grand reception hall, with its two American white oak staircases leading up to galleried landings on either side.
“I love the room we call the library, which looks out over the garden, and then the entertainment room, which has a high ceiling and enormous windows, which again take in the most beautiful views.”
“This is a fantastic place to welcome people for parties,” she says. “There is so much space here for entertaining people inside or if it is warm everyone can move out to the garden.”

SUMPTUOUS BEDROOMS
With four reception rooms on the ground floor, plus the generous kitchen breakfast room, Aragon House offers great versatility. Upstairs, each bedroom has its own bathroom, ensuring family members and friends can be accommodated in comfort and with privacy.
Three bedrooms, including the master suite, are situated on the first floor: one of these features a spiral staircase leading up to a mezzanine bathroom. The master bedroom has a sizeable walk-in wardrobe. Two more spacious bedrooms, each with an en suite shower room, are on the top floor of the house.
“The rooms here are very well laid out, with plenty of space for everyone and room to go off on your own to relax quietly if you choose,” she adds.

MATURE GROUNDS
Aragon House was built within established gardens, she explains. The grounds are therefore well-screened and feel exceptionally secluded.
“We have left most of the garden as one large lawn so the children have had plenty of space to run about and play football,” she says. “Whenever the weather is warm they like being outside, and we have enjoyed it too. There are doors from the kitchen and one of the reception rooms out on to the terrace, where it is nice to sit out in the sunshine and have a barbecue in the summer.”

CONVENIENT PLACE
There has been plenty to occupy the family in the wider area too. There are cricket and football pitches close by, as well as tennis courts, riding schools and golf courses.
“It is easy to access everything we want from here, from good schools to shops and supermarkets to motorways, airports and central London,” she says. “We have enjoyed having beautiful woods nearby to walk in and lots of historical places to visit; we like being able to get down to the seaside at Brighton and having good access to the Eurotunnel and ferries over to the continent.”
And she adds: “We love living in this area and hope to stay close by when we move. We will miss this house greatly, however. It is so beautiful and has been everything we hoped it would be.”

Setting the scene

Aragon House sits well within its very private and well-screened plot of approximately 0.7 acres.
It is set behind wrought iron electric security gates, which give on to a wide, brick-paved driveway with turning area. There are lawns to the front and further parking is available in a detached double garage with electronic doors.
The back garden has been largely left to lawn and is bordered by beautiful mature trees and shrubs. Doors from the house open on to the terrace.
