The village itself has every day amenities such as Post Office with village store, active Village Hall, a selection of public houses and restaurants and the neighbouring village of Georgeham has an excellent Primary School. A regular bus service runs to Braunton reputedly the largest village in England which offers additional amenities such as Supermarket, convenience stores, local shops, further selection of restaurants and public houses, primary and secondary education, medical centre etc. Barnstaple, the regional centre of North Devon is also on the bus route and this offers an even further range of national and local high street shops, supermarkets, theatre, cinema, hospital, college, train and bus station and access to the North Devon Link Road (A361) which leads to the M5 motorway at Junction 27.
