Full description

A flexible chalet bungalow in a sought after village location with far reaching views to Dartmoor.

Park Meadow Close is in an elevated position with far reaching views to Dartmoor yet still very much part of the village. It is a small cul-de-sac made up of just a handful of chalet style properties.
No 6 is a 3 or 4 bedroomed property with 2 bedrooms available on both the ground floor and first floor with each floor being served by a shower or bathroom. On the ground floor is a large living room with double doors opening out into the conservatory which enjoys the open views over the village rooftops to Dartmoor in the far distance. From the kitchen, a covered passage provides additional storage and links the property to the garage and gives access to the front and rear of the property. The property has been very well maintained and has double glazing and oil fired central heating throughout.

The rear garden is south facing and with the fantastic views, offers a wonderful patio seating area, small area of lawn plus planted beds, a greenhouse and a timber shed. To the front is a lawned garden, again with planted borders and a garage is accessed via a tarmac driveway with parking for two vehicles.

LAPFORD is a large village, beyond Morchard Road on the A377 – 9 miles from Crediton and 16 miles from the City of Exeter. Like most Devon parishes, it’s not far from a lovely collection of trees – Eggesford Forest is just up the way, a regal coniferous plantation that plays host to variety of creatures including adders, butterflies, buzzards and woodpeckers (and badgers!). The village itself has a primary school with an excellent Ofsted report, sizable playing fields (with a football pitch and kid-friendly playground) and a busy pub –The Old Malt Scoop Inn, once a 16th Century coaching inn – which now offers an à la carte dining experience, using only the best local produce. Like legends? Lapford has its very own ghost! Thomas Beckett, former Arch-Bishop of Canterbury, is said to gallop (on a horse, it’s worth adding) through the village on the anniversary of his death to confront his murderer, Sir William de Tracey of nearby ‘Nymet Tracey’. Eerie stuff.

DIRECTIONS From Crediton take the A377 road for 7 miles and turn right at Lapford Cross Garage and proceed up into the village of Lapford taking the first right turning past the Old Malt Scoop Inn. Proceed up this hill and Park Meadow Close is the 2nd turning on the left. No. 6 will be found on the left.
