Saffron Walden is a thriving market town set in the rolling countryside of north-west Essex. This historic town, with its ancient market square and timbered and pargetted medieval buildings, has been rightly called 'a hidden gem, yet is within easy commuting distance of both London and Cambridge.

Transport links are good. From Audley End Station there are 2 trains an hour (4 in rush hour) to Cambridge (15 minutes) and London: Tottenham Hale (Victoria Line tube) is 41 minutes on the fastest trains and Liverpool Street an hour. By car: Cambridge city centre can be reached in 30 minutes and Addenbrookes hospital just 20 minutes; and the car journey to London is an hour.
