In total, four rivers surround the local town of Llandovery; the Towy, Bran, Gwydderig and Bawddwr. Each gives visitors more beautiful areas to explore. The area's mining past is on show at the Dolaucothi Gold Mines, managed by the National Trust. The mines were in use from Roman times until the 20th Century.
