Traditional cottage in about 13.44 acres with salmon fishing rights
Kandahar is situated in one of the loveliest and most peaceful glens in Argyll. It enjoys complete privacy and has a wonderful access across its own grounds and fields to the River Ruel. This part of Scotland is regarded as an area of great natural charm and beauty and enjoys a mild climate.
Kandahar is set in some 13.44 acres of its own grounds in a delightful and accessible location. The village of Tighnabruaich is about eight miles away whilst the shopping centre of Dunoon, with frequent ferry crossings to Gourock, is only 16 miles distant. The Clachan (village) of Glendaruel is within two miles
For the sports enthusiast the great outdoors await. There are some interesting walking and cycling routes in the surrounding countryside as well as excellent shooting, stalking and fishing.
Kandahar is a traditional detached cottage. The house is white painted under a tiled roof. The reception hallway has an under stair storage cupboard. The sitting room has a window to the front and a log burning stove and the fitted kitchen and breakfast room has wall and mounted units. A rear hallway off the kitchen accesses a cloakroom, a bathroom and the master bedroom with en suite bathroom, and has an external door. The two first floor bedrooms are accessed by a staircase from the kitchen.
To the side of the house are a log store, 3 general-purpose stores and 4 kennels with secure enclosure.
The driveway leads through stone pillars and through the grounds to a gravel surfaced parking area. The gated gardens, of approximately 1 acre, are mainly down to grass, and have a number of fine trees, rhododendrons and other shrubs. The grounds include about 7 acres of enclosed rough grazing and an area of mixed woodland.
Kandahar benefits from over a mile of single and double bank fishing rights for salmon, sea trout and brown trout on a stretch of the River Ruel.
