History 
The nineteenth century built Loudoun House on Short Hill was formerly a public house, originally called the Rat and Ferret but later re-named The Loudoun Arms (The Countess of Loudoun was married to Lord Donington and it is likely the name change occurred following the addition of the Wilson lands to the Donington Estate in 1874).
