What the Owner says:
It has been a joy to live here over the past nine years but we are now moving abroad to start a new chapter in our lives. We have loved the peace and quiet as well as being able to enjoy the ‘good life’ with our chickens and geese and looking after our daughter’s horses on a regular basis and there is nothing we like more than sitting in the garden watching the wildlife. The early autumn is exciting when the fruit in the orchard is ready for picking. There is always a rush to be the first to taste the black cherries and we also love the figs, apples, pears, plums, and nectarines as well as gooseberries and rhubarb. You will find some wonderful walks and TROT (The Toll Rides Off Road Trust) rides where members can ride for miles around the neighbouring fields and woodland. At the same time we are not far from the village of Eastry with its grocery shops, pharmacy, post office, riding shop, takeaways and pub that serves very good food. It is a vibrant village with plenty of activities taking place in the community hall including zumba, morris dancing and fitness classes. There is also a horticultural society, a snooker club and a cricket club. The previous owners drew up plans for an extension to the cottage and, although the planning permission has now lapsed, it would probably be possible to resurrect it – particularly as the property is not listed.
