We moved to Mill House in Five Oak Green in 1999 because it offered us the opportunity to bring up our family in a home with enough room to accommodate our increasing demands for space with the very practical necessities of convenient commuting to London. Inside, the house has more than sufficient room for friends and family to stay, while outside the paddocks allowed space for games and physical activities for our children as they grew.

Five Oak Green itself is a thriving village with a post office, primary school, a couple of good pubs nearby and an annual summer fête. An excellent range of shops, cafés and restaurants, two theatres, a multiplex cinema and good transport links are available just up the road in Tunbridge Wells. As keen walkers there is access to many walks straight from the front door.

Set at the edge of the Kent Weald and retaining its charm as an older property, but with the conveniences of modern life, it has been a lively, happy home for us.





Location
The house is about 5½ miles from Tunbridge Wells which has outstanding shopping facilities and excellent schooling opportunities in both the Private and State sectors at Primary and Secondary level. Tonbridge, of equal distance, has similar facilities. Both Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge have regular train services to London Charing Cross and Cannon Street (less than an hour away).

Paddock Wood, which is about 1½ miles from the house, has excellent commuter train services to London (approximately 50 minutes), good shopping facilities, including a Waitrose and family run department store, and Primary and Secondary schools. There is a primary school, village shop and pub in Five Oak Green itself.


Directions
From Tunbridge Wells head along the A228 in the direction of Maidstone to the Badsell Road roundabout, at the bottom of Colts Hill. Continue north on Maidstone Road (signposted for Maidstone and the Hop Farm) and the drive is on the left after 100 yards.
