Situation - The woodland lies in an attractive rural location near Kingford Hill, above the Taw Valley near Portsmouth Arms station on the Tarka branch line. The A377 road which links Barnstaple and Exeter is within 0.5 miles whilst the village of High Bickington is 2 miles to the north-west and Umberleigh is 4 miles to the north.

Description - Known as Marwood Wood, the woodland extends to 7.14 Acres (2.89 Hectares) and comprises an attractive mixed wood positioned above the Taw Valley in north Devon. The wood is steeply sloping with a north-east facing aspect and although it has frontage on to the A377, there is access via a right of way near Forest Park Lodges to the south.

Access - The wood is accessed from Kingford Hill, which joins the A377 0.5 miles east of the wood. There is a right of way over the entrance lane to Forest Park Lodges as shown with a brown dotted line on the land plan. For viewings, please park on the grass verge at point A, on the left of the entrance lane to Forest Park Lodges, and continue to the wood on foot. The track is suitable for vehicles with four wheel drive and high ground clearance only.
