My parents moved to Buxted to be near their family and never regretted the move. They shared a love of the garden which they developed and replanted, growing trees and shrubs to encourage the birds which now inhabit the plot, filling it with birdsong. Dad enjoyed the fact that he could walk from his front door and access rambles with the dog in every direction through woodland and fields enjoying great views. Mum enjoyed the proximity to Uckfield the opportunity to go shopping using either the train or the bus and the choice of supermarkets and small local shops that the town has to offer. They both appreciated the chance to go to London to see a show or visit friends and relatives on the train with a journey time of just over an hour.
