The Vendor's View - At the time we bought the property, we were in Ramsgate and looking to move to Broadstairs to be near our eldest daughters primary school. We saw the plans of this complete new development in the local paper and bought the property off plan, 27 years ago now!
The location here provides easy access to some great schools: a grammar, a secondary and 2 primary schools all within a 1/2 mile radius. All of the schools have very good names; one of our daughters attended the grammar school, while the other went to the secondary modern and both have done very well. The location is perfect for a young family, the private estate is very safe and its a lovely place to bring up kids.
Our favourite room is probably the kitchen, which has recently been re-designed with lovely patio doors looking out onto the south-facing garden. Because it is south-facing it's an absolute sun-trap and so warm we dont need a radiator in there! Its a great kitchen where everyone ends up at parties. We have a framed poster on the wall that says "This kitchen is for dancing" which sums it up really!
The neighbours here are very close; there is a real sense of community. We often have get-togethers, and in the summer we get the barbecue going, it's great fun.
St Peters village is a 10 minute walk, and we are about 1/2 mile from the supermarket. Westwood Cross shopping centre is about a mile away, as is Broadstairs town centre and Viking Bay. It takes about 15 to 20 minutes to walk down to the seafront, which is especially useful during festival season; it's close enough to walk, yet far enough away to park!
The only reason we are leaving is that we are looking to downsize. Our elder daughter lives in Ramsgate now with her family and our younger daughter is looking to move out so we feel that now is the right time. We will be sad to leave because we have so many great memories here.
