Our Time Here - We have lived in this property for 12 years now. The location is key, being beside the old churchyard, with its mature trees, greenery and its population of foxes, squirrels and a large variety of birds. Despite this countryside feel, the house is situated very near to the town centre.
Our favourite part of the house is the top floor with the sunroom and its adjoining large North and South terraces, which benefit from panoramic views. It is a really lovely living area and having the designer basin available in that space means that barbecues and picnics/meals on the terrace can be easily arranged. We will remember relaxing and dining there with great fondness.
Being in a gated development allows privacy and we will sadly miss the ability to have breakfast seated outside the front door in the sunshine. For these reasons and for reasons of lifestyle, we have never missed not having a garden.
The location is truly, very quiet, but we have enjoyed being only 200-300 yards away from the centre of this delightful town where there are excellent markets three days a week and monthly antique markets. Faversham is much quieter than Canterbury but has a large selection of good quality pubs, restaurants (some Michelin-starred) and tearooms situated in the so-called gastronomic triangle. There are also many festivals and activities throughout the year.
We have loved the immediately accessible Faversham creek with its historic Thames barges; the Saxon Shore Way long distance footpath; the nature reserves of the North Kent marshes and the many footpaths over the idyllic countryside. We will fondly remember walking around in the town and surrounds.
We are now downsizing to an apartment, but will leave this house with great regret and fond memories.
