The Vendor's View - We were looking for a property in an accessible location that had the potential to house an annexe. There was already a very small annexe in place here, with a bedroom and a lounge, but it provided us with the space to knock the garage down and extend it into a small bungalow to the side of the main property. There is a lovely balcony from the main bedroom, which is a lovely place to sit out first thing in the morning on a summers day with a cup of coffee. It almost has a holiday like feel. For the first year we lived here, my parents said they felt like they were actually on holiday!
There is a small lounge, probably more like a music room and that's my favourite place. We call it the cosy room, we just feel really comfortable there and it's a nice place to escape to and relax. The main sitting room is more of a formal place, which is larger and good for entertaining. My children were really small when we bought the property, and they have enjoyed the large garden, while the inside of the house has provided plenty of space for a growing family.
The house is in a great location, there are some great schools within walking distance and it is near to town. The nicest thing for us is that we are literally only five or 10 minutes cycle ride to Fowlmead cycle track, its only a short distance along the main road to the cycle path that leads there.
One thing I'll really miss about the house is the garden, especially from spring onwards. It's a real sun-trap and although we are in an accessible location, it feels like were in the countryside. The garden is large and full of trees, with squirrels bounding around, so it's almost like walking through the woods. I will always remember spring and summer evenings sat out in the sun, and that's certainly what I will miss most.
