Vendors View - It was the wonderful location that attracted us. The views across the North Downs are gorgeous and we have no near neighbours, so were in our own little haven here. Its lovely.
Originally, this was a small, two-bedroom bungalow and its grown into a five-bedroom detached house. We saw the potential and thought we could make this a beautiful home. In fact, weve made it into two properties.
On one side, we extended to provide a beautiful, big kitchen/dining room thats very light and airy, a large upstairs living room and two bedrooms with en suites with high, vaulted ceilings and large windows. And then, we converted the other side and lifted the ceiling in the lounge and hallway. Again, it has a lounge and a double and single bedroom and its very light with large windows and French doors that take you out to a conservatory.
Theres a lot of work gone on over the years. I love the vaulted ceilings upstairs and the feeling of space, the view from the lounge and watching the wildlife.
Weve also put a lot of work into the garden and, because theres a lot of space, weve had loads of barbecue parties, as well as my grandsons Christening. Weve even had murder mystery dinner evenings for up to 14 people.
The main garden has a big lawn and a large patio area at the bottom, with a little two-storey wooden playhouse for my grandson, as well as my workshop and a swing seat where I often sit first thing in the morning and have my tea. Its really relaxing.
Weve been here 14 years but were moving to a smaller property, which we plan to convert.
