NORTH KENT ESTATES are delighted to offer for sale 'ANITA C' a GERMAN COASTAL BARGE, with MOORING (to be confirmed by the Marina owner). It was built in 1950 by the famous ship makers Joseph L Meyer (of Orianna Fame). The 265 HP M.W.M. engine was rebuilt in 1980 with a NEW TAIL SHAFT and bearings added at the same time. With less than 100 hours running time used since then. 'Anita C' is 39 METRES LONG and has an approximate draught of 2 metres and a beam of approx 7 metres. The MWM 4 cylinder DIESEL ENGINE is in full working order. Th boat has the beauty of a DOUBLE BOTTOM of 6mm steel in the hold area. She was a working barge until 1990 when she lost her working contract because of the building recession. The current owners of 'Anita C' purchased her in 1992.

In October 2008 it held an excellent survey when it was dry docked for minor repairs and 20 NEW ANODES added. 'Anita C' holds a current survey when in August 2014, she went into the Turks Ship Yard at the Chatham Dockyard and underwent many repairs and maintenance. THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM (steering) was completely renewed and 18 anodes were put on.

The Boat has been FULLY RE-PAINTED using Jotul Marine paint. 4 SOLAR PANELS have been fitted generating free hot water in the summer months. There is a 400 watt U.S.A WIND TURBINE which charges 2 new banks of 24 Volt batteries.

Originally the crew quarters, 'Anita C' holds SEPARATE LIVING ACCOMMODATION which has been COMPLETELY REFURBISHED to comprise of 1 DOUBLE BEDROOM, a large LOUNGE with a small log burner, a galley and a toilet/wet shower room. There is OIL FIRED central heating and a new boiler was fitted 2 years ago.

The hold is FULLY CONVERTED using nearly all reclaimed timber and includes substantial wooden beams, giving it an OLDE WORLD APPEAL. The very spacious hold of (75' X 22' 3) has potential for further conversions. The owners have added a second steel floor providing the luxury of a DOUBLE BOTTOM throughout the hold. There are 3 LARGE BEDROOMS, a HUGE LIVING AREA, good size bathroom and a WORKSHOP at the far end of the hold. The workshop (20' X 22') contains a table saw and chop saw, tools and lots of wood ready for the next winter. This will be included with the boat. Before any conversion work was carried out, 'Anita C' was completely CLEANED, PRIMED and PAINTED. The 2 extra floors which have been put in provide EXTRA STORAGE SPACE or a possible extension and has been COMPLETELY INSULATED to a high degree. FULL PHOTOGRAPHIC HISTORY of all work carried out.

The boat is ideal for a large family with an annexe if required, but the potential is endless! She has been featured in T.V. PROGRAMMES and was used in an INTERIOR DESIGN magazine. She has been asked to be FEATURED IN BOOKS for film location work and magazine shoots.
