Our Time Here - Weve lived at the property for over 12 years. We moved here when our eldest son was 2 1/2 and our middle son was just 2 weeks old! We were living in Rochester when we first came across the property. I remembered visiting Whitstable as a young girl, and I brought my husband to visit the town and to see if it was a good place for windsurfing, which is his hobby. From that visit, we wondered why on earth we were living in Rochester, as Whitstable was wonderful and the same distance to work!
This was a perfect family home for us to grow into. We were so excited to live close to the beach, and the house had recently been renovated so although it had lovely period features, it was ready for us to move into ideal for a family with such young children! Our favourite room is probably the kitchen, which is open plan with the dining area and this opens out onto the garden. Its where we spend most of our time, especially in the summer months. This is where everything happens, mealtimes, homework, parties; its a great family space.
The house is in an ideal location for us. You dont really need a car to get to anything, which is perfect for families. We love the fact that it is just a 5 minute walk to the beach, and we enjoy walking our dog in the local area. The centre of Whitstable is 10 minutes away on foot with all the independent shops, while the station is 5 minutes walk, which also benefits from the high speed rail link.
This has been such a lovely family home and we have really enjoyed the mix of old and new features. Having 4 bedrooms and a playroom has been a real highlight for us, being able to close that door and relax in the sitting room with no toys or clutter has been brilliant! We will also miss the south-facing garden, which is a lovely, sunny space. Its with great sadness that we are leaving but we feel that now is the right time.
