3 bedroom detached house for sale

Bickington, Newton Abbot

£425,000

Property Description

Full description

Riverside Lodge forms part of a small private road of just a handful of properties within the South Devon village of Bickington about three miles north-east of Ashburton and about four miles north-west of Newton Abbot. The A38 Devon Expressway, which links the two Devon cities of Plymouth and Exeter, is just a few minutes' drive from the property, as is the Dartmoor National Park, with its rugged tors contrasted by sheltered combes and providing some 365 square miles of beautiful walks and rides.

The market town of Newton Abbot has a modern pedestrian shopping centre with many High Street stores and a main line railway station. There is a wide choice of excellent schools in the locality including South Dartmoor and Blackpool. The nearby towns of Bovey Tracey (4 miles) and Ashburton have an excellent range of everyday amenities and variety of interesting shops. The South Devon coastline, which boasts excellent sailing and water sport opportunities, is within easy motoring distance.

Riverside Lodge is a most attractively designed house built in around 1992 with larger than usual, and extremely well shaped, room dimensions. All of the ground floor living areas overlook the private gardens at the rear whilst the kitchen-breakfast room has a dual aspect and is well planned with plenty of cupboards and workspaces - re-fitted by the current owners. Upstairs, the three bedrooms each have built-in wardrobes and the main bedroom has an en-suite shower room. There is ample space to create an en-suite to bedroom two, if desired. Outside, there is an integral double garage with inspection pit, secure gated driveway and lovely garden which backs onto the river Lemon.

As previously mentioned Riverside Lodge is accessed via a well surfaced, private road the upkeep of which is shared equally between four properties. Riverside Lodge arguably enjoys the choice position in the road at the very end in a private, secluded position.

DIRECTIONS
From Ashburton, join the A38 in the Exeter direction and take the Goodstone exit signposted for Newton Abbot and Bickington. Continue along this road and take a left hand turning signposted for Bickington and Ilsington. Take the second turning on the right into a minor country road and at the end of this road turn right again, where the entrance to Manor Mead will be found after a short distance on the right.

Alternatively, from Newton Abbot, take the A383 Ashburton road and proceed for just under four miles. Take a right and turning at Travellers Rest Cross, signposted Bickington, and the entrance to Manor Mead will be found along this road on the left hand side.
