Henry Halsey Court is a magnificent three double bedroom, two bathroom townhouse with accommodation approaching 2,400 sq.ft. which was built in 1998 to the rear of the manor house of Henley Park set within 22 acres of well maintained grounds approached via electronic gates down a winding ½ mile driveway with ample parking, double garage and delightful west facing garden.
The Story

Entertaining in the elegant drawing room or relaxing quietly in the sun filled courtyard garden, the new owners of Henry Halsey Court can enjoy both the serenity and the grandeur of this delightful four storey home.

Henley Park, near Normandy in Surrey, has a long and colourful history. There is believed to have been a manor house on the site as far back as 747, when it was first referred to by its Saxon name meaning "high clearing." The country home's first recorded owner was the one "Azor the Saxon," said to have been a guard of Edward the Confessor. Over the following centuries the property was then owned by a number of notable people, among others Edward II and Edward III, who kept it as a royal deer park. During the first world war it became an auxiliary hospital and then in the second world war it was used to as a site for the manufacture of aircraft parts.

In 1998 the property underwent significant renovation and development. The original country house was restored and divided into three, while Henry Halsey Court was added as a Georgian style extension to the rear of the mansion. Additional homes were also built in the grounds in a careful and complementary style. It was all beautifully done and very few changes have been made since.

Four storey living offers great flexibility and Henry Halsey Court could suit an individual, a couple or a family.
The ground floor features the dining room, kitchen and utility room, while the 1st floor is where the magnificent drawing room is situated. The second floor comprises two bedrooms and a bathroom, while the master suite is at the top of the house and enjoys its own en suite bathroom.
"This is like a London house, it offers London style living in beautiful Surrey. We share the 22 acres of private parkland here and from the bedroom at the top there are views over towards the Hog's Back."

It has been easy to have family and friends to stay at the house. With three bedrooms and plenty of reception space, everyone can spread out.
"All of the bedrooms are used, the top floor is ideal for when anyone stays as they can have their own large room and bathroom. One of the others is used for relaxing and watching television, whilst the third is the main bedroom."
The dining room has been superb for dinner parties and the drawing room is a haven at any time of day; being a lovely, calm, elegant room.

On sunny days one can enjoy sitting out in the private terrace, with its steps up to a courtyard garden where there are a table and chairs arranged for outside dining.
"New owners moving here might also enjoy all the communal grounds, especially if they have a dog. It is great to have all that space to run around in, especially with children."
From Henley Park, there is good access to Guildford for shopping; Normandy is a lively village for those seeking community activities and there are a number of stations nearby with trains into London for those wishing to commute for work or visit big city theatres and galleries.
