Corrie is an attractive village with a local shop, church, village hall, the Corrie Hotel and 2 separate harbours. For the avid golfer Corrie has its own 9 hole, 3896 yard golf course on the hillside above, offering magnificent views over the Firth of Clyde. Brodick golf course is nearby and offers an 18 hole course surrounded by spectacular scenery, and is a mixture of parkland and links.

Corrie lies 6 miles north of Brodick which is the largest village on the island, and offers visitors the best selection of services on Arran. Here you will find a range of shops, cafes, restaurants and hotels.

Brodick is the port from which a regular daily sailing service by Caledonian MacBrayne leads to the mainland at Ardrossan. Ardrossan has a main line rail station, with trains to Glasgow that connect with the ferry times, and is approximately 30 miles from Glasgow City Centre.

Prestwick International Airport is 16 miles to the south of Ardrossan with Glasgow International Airport 24 miles east of Ardrossan.

Both primary and secondary schooling is available on the island. Corrie and Brodick both have reputable primary schools and Arran High School is situated in Lamlash, only a 20 minute drive from Corrie.

Arran
Arran is some 20 miles long and 10 miles wide and offers some of the most spectacular and beautiful scenery in Scotland, ranging from the rugged granite ridges in the north, dominated by Goatfell (2,866 feet) to the undulating plains and valleys in the south. A good road encircles the island for 56 miles whilst two others cross from east to west. Activities include;

Walks - Arran provides unsurpassed walks and rambles, including more demanding rock climbs.

Riding & Trekking - Pony trekking is available at Brodick, Blackwaterfoot and Kilmory.

Fishing - Burn, loch and sea angling is available to the public. For shore fishers there are miles of easily accessible beaches where good sport may be enjoyed.

Golf - There are seven golf courses on the island. Competitions are run regularly throughout the year at most of the courses.

Bowling & Tennis - Bowling greens are open to visitors at Brodick, Lamlash and Whiting Bay. Tennis courts are available at most villages.

Boat Hiring - Rowing boats and dinghies are available for hire at Brodick, Lamlash and Whiting Bay.

Cycle Hire - Cycles can be hired in most of the main villages.

On arrival at Brodick Caledonian MacBrayne Ferry Terminal, turn right onto Alma Park, continue on the A841 heading north for Corrie.
