The Story

Thinking back over the past 15 years at Drew Meadow, the owners of the three-bedroom, semi-detached home agree there have been many happy times here. They moved to the house because they loved sought-after, leafy Farnham Common and knew there were excellent schools in the area to choose from for their children.
Since then, they have redecorated and modified the house to meet their own tastes and requirements and it has become a place to enjoy spending time together and with friends.
"This place feels very private and away from everywhere else once you are inside," one of them says. "You return home at the end of the day, close the gate behind you and you feel a real sense of seclusion."

EXCITING PLANS
The property on Drew Meadow dates back to around 1945, the owners believe. Over the years it has evolved but there is potential for the next chapter in its history to see some dramatic changes.
"We were considering extending the house very significantly but our plans have changed," he says. "There is, however, still consent for the next owner to carry this out if they wish."
The plans could see the property extended out to the side to bring additional ground floor living space. At the back, a two-storey extension could be carried out to create morel bedroom and bathroom accommodation upstairs, as well as a splendid family living kitchen below.
"The house has been perfect for us as it is but extending it could improve it even further."

STREAMING SUNSHINE
Over the past 15 years the house has been carefully maintained and enhanced by the family.
"We have removed internal walls to make it feel much more open inside and we have redecorated it," the owner says. "The dining room has recently been redecorated - we actually use this room as an extra sitting room, which works very well for us."
The house has a bright, airy ambience throughout. It is well-situated and catches the sunshine throughout the day.
"There is lots of sunlight in this house from early in the morning right through until the evening."

FAMILY AND FRIENDS
The layout of the house has given family members the space to spend time together or on their own.
"We are often in the kitchen during the day and then tend to relax in the drawing room in the evening," he says. "This is also where we entertain friends - we have entertained a lot here over the years. This has been a great home for family parties both inside the house and out in the garden."

AMONG THE TREES
One of the great benefits of living in Farnham Common is having beautiful Burnham Beeches right on the doorstep. This is an area of around 540 acres of ancient woodland, which is home to many endangered species of plant and animal. The area is protected as a National Nature Reserve, Site of Special Scientific Interest and a candidate Special Area of Conservation.
Seven Ways Plain hill fort is located in the south west part of Burnham Beeches. This comprises a range of earthworks, which have been dated to the late Bronze Age and early Iron Age. The close proximity of film studios has made Burnham Beeches a desirable film location, with movies including Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, Goldfinger, The Princess Bride and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix shot here.
"We do a lot of walking at Burnham Beeches - it is just five minutes' walk from the house," he says. "We are also lucky enough to have a sports ground at the back of us, where there are swings, slides and lots of sports facilities."

PLACE TO RELAX
Another of the great attractions to the area is the ease of travel to London and other parts of the country, he continues.
"We couldn't be in a better location: we are just a mile and a half from the M40 and about two and a half miles from the M25," he points out. "It only takes 12 minutes to get to Heathrow. We are 28 miles from central London, where I work, and the commuting is superb. By train the journey is very quick and you have the choice of two stations."
The family will miss the leafy location, their neighbours and, of course, their home.
"This has been a very peaceful home," he says. "It is a wonderful place to relax and we are surrounded by greenery and space, where you often see birds and occasionally deer."
