Full description

Tenure: Freehold

This detached period home is a real jewel in the crown of the ever popular village of Newington. The area is a firm favourite for commuters looking to come home from a hard day’s work to a more semi rural lifestyle. You have great accessibility to the A2 for those who drive to work and the village has its own railway station on the Victoria line. You will find local amenities aplenty and you are sandwiched between the two towns of Rainham and Sittingbourne. After being welcomed into the generous entrance hall you are led into a large lounge with the tall windows filling the room with light on a summer’s day and a traditional fireplace with wood burner to cosy up of a winter evening. When guests come to visit you can create a real feast in the kitchen and impress them in the dining room for a more formal setting. Three bedrooms upstairs are complimented by a further one downstairs, which will suit a teenager and could even give them their own separate space when used in conjunction with the current utility room and downstairs toilet.

The garden is gorgeous, with plenty of room for children to play and great space for adults to enjoy a barbecue in the evening sun. At the rear you will find a brilliant former barn come workshop, which would make a perfect place to work, create office space, or perhaps even convert into an annexe (subject to necessary planning permissions being obtainable).

What the Owner says:

This has been a lovely home for my family for many years and our children loved growing up here. The gardens are a real treat and the house itself has proved to be a real hit with guests as much as it did for us. I feel the house has more potential too; we did previously have planning permissions to extend the house further at the rear. The addition of the conservatory on the side gave me a little private haven to sit and enjoy the sun and is one of my favourite spots in the house. Having a large family, the huge parking area is great, with room for tonnes of guests too.

I love the interesting features of this Victorian house, including a water pump well at the rear of the garden, which is useful and great fun in the summer!
