A surprisingly warm and inviting four bed stone detached house of nearly 2,300 sq ft, sat in a secluded position behind its own gates, and with a walled garden backing onto the parkland behind. Double garage, masses of parking, lovely condition, and very very private. NO CHAIN

This house is more impressive with every visit - secluded, stylish, spacious. If a house can exhibit a sense of positivity and warmth this is it.

Chesterton is a popular village offering the best of all worlds. Dating back to Roman times (Akeman Street runs through the village) the village is quiet and off the beaten track, steeped in history with a predominance of stone cottages, while providing easy access to many amenities including locals pubs and restaurants, Bicester village, M40 and A34, plus a mainline London station (to Marylebone in c. 42 mins) just 2 miles distant.

Park House was built as a one-off to a very specific design. The remit was to provide a house that flowed well, maximised the use of space but also - above all - was light. In all these it succeeds. Each time we have visited the light has been different in each room, creating a living feeling of vibrancy and positivity not found in many houses. It is also tastefully decorated throughout with nothing really to detract. Hence while the next owner will mould it to their taste there is little they need to do.

Normally we describe our properties as if giving a tour through each room. Somehow that would not do this house justice. Instead, here are some stand out assets. The kitchen is spread out wide across the back of the house, hence there is a lot of glazing including doors onto the garden to enjoy the view when dining. This makes it extremely light even on dark days. The living room is quite a good size but because of its fireplace it manages to feel cozy too, pleasantly inviting and intimate. Across the hall is a study that feels entirely separate from the rest of the house, ideal for concentration, but even here the view across the front garden to the trees ensures there are birds, squirrels etc to divert the eye. Practicalities are served well because the utility (with a Belfast sink) and cloak room are hidden away next to the kitchen and here another door opens into a large double garage.

Upstairs will surprise you. The two principle bedrooms are vast. The first features not just a large en-suite but also an array of fitted cupboards at the entrance. Bedroom two is a generous size. All bedrooms are a good size, and a particularly lovely touch is the bedroom with eaves into which a roof light window has been added - it's so light and inviting, and the style embellishes the attraction. Even the landing is a significant size, with vast windows flooding light that bounces round the upstairs and down through the hall.

At the rear the garden is well kept, pretty and very secluded, this is the ideal place equally for bird watching, entertaining or reading a book. Surrounded by trees and its own stone wall, it feels quiet and peaceful. To the front ample driveway space for any family is embellished by a large double garage that also features an electric door - ideal for rainy returns. With electric gates to the front and an entrance that is very private this is a real retreat.
