Silchester is a popular village located on the Hampshire/Berkshire borders. The village itself has facilities including a primary school, public house and church, whilst more day to day facilities are available in the nearby town of Tadley. More extensive leisure, recreational and educational facilities are available in the nearby towns of Reading, Newbury and Basingstoke are all within a short drive, and consequently the property is well located for access to both the Paddington and Waterloo lines and the M3 and M4 motorways. The village itself is the site of the Roman town Calleva Atrebatum and is surrounded by delightful heathland and woods.
Prospect House is an individual detached single storey property standing in private gardens within the Conservation Area close to the heart of the village, approached off a private gravelled drive. Built in 1980 and extended in 1996, the property offers light, versatile and spacious accommodation extending to about 1986 sq.ft., offered in excellent order throughout.
The front door opens to the spacious reception hall which gives access to all rooms. The sitting room has a vaulted ceiling and a tall picture window overlooking the front and there is a central brick built fireplace dividing this from the adjoining dual aspect dining room, and this gives access to the refitted kitchen/breakfast room. The master bedroom has an en suite dressing room and en suite bathroom, and the guest bedroom also has an en suite shower room. There are two further bedrooms, the family bathroom and a utility room.
Prospect House has a gated block paved driveway which provides parking and which leads to the double garage/workshop which is in a Grade II Listed barn. The garden extends right around the property but lies mainly to one side where it enjoys a southerly orientation. Fully enclosed by fencing and with mature trees beyond, the garden is very private with areas of lawn with flower and shrub beds and borders, a large paved terrace with a barbeque area and pergola. To the north east is a gravelled courtyard. All in all, the garden provides an excellent setting for this lovely property.
All mains services are connected. Gas central heating.
