Our Time Here - It was the location that really drew us to this property, some 15 years ago now. Moving to Whitstable from the countryside meant our children could walk to the local secondary school or catch the bus into Canterbury for the Grammar schools. As they got older they could catch the train, which is just a 6-7 minute walk away. It also allowed us to be close to all the amenities that we could possibly need.
Our favourite feature is the view from the master bedroom. When we wake up each morning and draw back the curtains we are met with the most glorious panoramic view over the whole of Whitstable, the harbour, the sea, and on a clear day you can even see the Essex coast. Even when the weather isn't so good it's still a stunning view and certainly something that we hope to match in the next property! Downstairs, our favourite room would have to be the L-shaped kitchen/diner which is large enough to accommodate our 6 seater dining table and also a sofa. This is a fabulous space for spending time with the family, especially when the children were younger, enabling us to all be together while cooking etc. There is additionally a separate sitting room.
We love the fact that the property is a 5-10 minute walk from everywhere. There are numerous pubs and restaurants throughout the town and along the seafront, all within easy walking distance, and its also a short stroll to the harbour. Whitstable always has something going on and there is plenty to get involved in with the local community.
Our children spent a large part of their childhood in this house, so we have plenty of happy memories associated with it. More recently we have had some wonderful New Years Eve celebrations here in the hot tub, watching the fireworks at midnight; we will miss that and hopefully thats something we can replicate it in our next home! We intend to stay as close as possible when we move, but we are looking to downsize a little now the children have grown up.
