Full description

The Old Vicarage is actually a stunning modern edifice created eight years ago on the footprint of the original vicarage in St. Margaret’s at Cliffe. It is in a delightfully peaceful and tranquil cul-de-sac and the architect has designed an amazing building with traditional balustrades, pillars and attractive gardens, providing a wonderfully elegant ambience that is full of the character of a bygone era.

The beautiful spacious three-bedroom penthouse apartment is an impressive property with high-quality fixtures and fittings, whether you are looking for a permanent home or a wonderful holiday and weekend retreat. It has panoramic views across the village cricket ground and tennis courts and provides an excellent view of the local cricket matches from the balustrade’s roof terrace. This can be accessed via the large entrance hall that is large enough to also be used as a study area or a dining hall. There is a good-sized open-plan lounge and dining areas with direct access to the very well fitted modern kitchen/breakfast room with two integrated ovens, hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and adjacent utility room. The apartment also incorporates a family bathroom and three double bedrooms including the master with en suite facilities and a walk-in wardrobe. It is wired with the most modern and sophisticated communications systems with fibre optic broadband and a HIVE multi zone heating and hot water system – allowing you to turn on the heating and hot water from anywhere in the world!

There is plenty of additional storage available as well as a lift, a garage, cycle shed and plenty of off-road parking for both residents and guests. There is a gardener to look after the lovely communal gardens and the management company, owned by the residents, ensures the property is well maintained. You will find plenty of wonderful walks along footpaths and trails to Kingsdown and the beach at St. Margaret’s Bay where you can stop at the Coastguard pub before tackling the hundred steps back up to the village.

What the Owner says:

We bought this apartment when the property was first built. It was exactly what we wanted as we were looking for a place in Kent near the coast and fell in love with St. Margaret’s at Cliffe.

However, we feel that it is time to move back to our roots in the North of England but we have always enjoyed the very friendly and community spirited village. There are a number of restaurants, a hotel and four pubs as well as a post office, village shop and the St. Margaret’s resort where locals and visitors can make use of the gym, sauna and swimming pool.
There are a wide range of societies and clubs including bowls, tennis, cricket, football as well as a history and horticultural society, among many others. Not to mention the St. Margaret’s players for those with a more
theatrical bent. For the younger members of the community there are also very active scout, guide and brownie troops as well as the two riding stables.
We are not far from Dover and Folkestone for access to the Continent, Walmer or Dover for the main-line station and the lovely town of Deal with its seafront, individual shops, bars and restaurants.
