These 2 blocks of mainly free draining calcareous soil have been part of the historic Goodnestone Park Estate for many centuries. They are currently being farmed under contract by Nonington Farms Ltd. growing a rotation of Winter Wheat, Winter Barley mainly for malting and Oilseed Rape. The land is shown on the MAFF land classification map as being of Grades 2 & 3. Lot 2 (Chalk Wood Land): This larger block comprises 67.29 hectares (166.27 acres) with 62.63 hectares (154.75 acres) in 2 large arable fields bisected a hedge and the North Downs Way. It has long road frontage to the Snowdon/Nonington Road. The woodland extends to 4.66 hectares (11.52 acres).
