PURCHASING THIS PROPERTY WITH A LIFETIME LEASE

This property is offered at a reduced price for people aged over 60 through Homewise’s Home for Life Plan. Through the Home for Life Plan, anyone aged over sixty can purchase a lifetime lease on this property which discounts the price from its full market value. The size of the discount you are entitled to depends on your age, personal circumstances and property criteria and could be anywhere between 8.5% and 59% from the property’s full market value. The above price is for guidance only. It is based on our average discount and would be the estimated price payable by a 69-year-old single male. As such, the price you would pay could be higher or lower than this figure.

For more information or a personalised quote, just give us a call. Alternatively, if you are under 60 or would like to purchase this property without a Home for Life Plan at its full market price of £249,995, please contact Ward & Partners.

PROPERTY DESCRIPTION

How often have you dreamt of owning a 16th century cottage in the heart of Kent? This picturesque residence has everything you will have been hoping for - history, character, nooks, crannies and stories worthy of further exploration.

Once a woodsman’s cottage, in days gone by, when horse drawn carriages would clatter by taking fares and wares to the nearby market town of Cranbrook, it’s easy to see today the craft and workmanship of their labours. With exposed beams throughout the cottage and an 8’ inglenook fireplace in the lounge, sit back and let your imagination wander.

What tales you could have for your friends. Share a warming toddy sat at the table which is charmingly set around a vertical beam in the lounge and warm your fingers and heart as you watch the flames dance in the woodburning stove.

Even climbing the stairs the house continues to tell its masterful story. A gorgeous feature fireplace in the big double bedroom will ensure you look forward to the chill of the seasons to come. With a useful dressing room adjacent, enjoy a warming bath then wrap up in a thick robe, mug of cocoa and good book to hand. Cold winter nights will be a thing of the past! This is a home that won’t be on the market for long.

What the Owner says:

We have lovingly cared for this home so that all its new owners need do is move in and unpack. We have loved the beamed kitchen, and in the summer, we open up the door to the garden and enjoy afternoon tea outside. The garden is sunny and is a very good size bearing in mind our central position. We have redecorated and fitted the kitchen some years ago but we have been careful to preserve the original features of the house. The attic is boarded, with power and light, so there is plenty of extra storage space if needed.

The centre of Cranbrook with its shops and inns is within walking distance.

All ready and waiting for new owners to enjoy.
