Our Time Here - I must have looked at every flat in Folkestone with a sea view, but this one was the largest and had all the accommodation we needed. It certainly stood out from the rest with a completely un-interrupted sea view and you dont get many flats with abundant cupboard space, their own garage and such a large balcony: 45ft!
Located on the whole of the top floor, the living accommodation in this apartment is huge. This was two flats converted into one, and so the lift opens straight into the apartment. The lounge is massive and looks out onto the sea, and the master bedroom is twice the size of a regular bedroom, which has a sea view as well. We love the fact that these two rooms benefit from sunlight all day, from early morning right the way through to sunset. Another favourite feature is the seventies walk in bar, which has a sink alcove.
There is a communal garden for the residents, and promenade between the building and the beach. Its a very friendly community here, there is a group of us that meet in the garden for drinks a few times a week. Some of the apartments are holiday homes, but everyone is included in the social events if they would like to be. Its very easy to make friends here, but everyone also has their own privacy. Being near to SAGA, there is always plenty going on in the local area and lots to get involved in.
Sandgate is lovely with a lot of local shops, quite a few good restaurants and more recently some beach bars and a microbrewery. Everything is within easy walking distance from the apartment, and there are good bus services to Folkestone and Hythe, but you can also walk into Folkestone from here too.
I have loved living in this apartment and I will be very sad to leave, but my circumstances have changed now. I have always felt very safe here and Im going to miss living so close to the seafront along with the amazing sea views.
