In More Detail - The crisp white walls and high ceilings that run throughout this well-proportioned family home emphasise the amount of sunlight that pours in through the windows, while the warm tones of the original wood floors and stripped wooden doors offer a consistent design theme.
Ground Floor - A square bay window allows ample natural light to tumble into the generously proportioned dual aspect living room highlighting the high ceilings and creating a relaxing and welcoming air. Amply sized for plenty of seating, a period fireplace creates an instant focal point while the deep chimney breast alcoves offer a wealth of stylish shelving and storage.
Easily accommodating a family dining table, the kitchen/diner is the real heart of this home. Sunlight flows in from the south-facing garden and bounces off the white walls while bespoke Shaker style cabinets with brushed chrome handles are home to a variety of integrated appliances. Graceful solid wood countertops stretch down to form a convenient breakfast bar and feature a 1.5 gloss white sink.
Offering a wealth of space and storage this is a beautiful room to spend time in and its well thought out design allows for a microwave oven to be discreetly hidden from view in a larder cupboard while a well-placed open alcove creates the ideal spot for a cookery book collection.
A separate utility room completes the ground floor.
First Floor - Sitting on the half landing a well-proportioned double bedroom continues the lovely flow of light that runs throughout this home. A full height fitted wardrobe provides storage while a feature baby blue wall adds a splash of colour.
Crisp white tiles encompass a full size bath and overhead shower in the adjacent family bathroom where side-mounted Hudson Reed cross head taps and a wall hung basin add a distinguished finishing touch.
The warm tones of the original wood floor flow from the hallway into two further generously proportioned bedrooms on the first floor.
A wide square bay window offers the ideal spot for a chaise longue in the master bedroom whose white walls and additional side window engender a peaceful and relaxing feel. A fitted wardrobe nestles within a chimney breast alcove without encroaching on the ample floor space which offers room for additional freestanding furniture.
A pretty lilac and mallow colour scheme emphasises the amount of space on offer in the third double bedroom while a further fitted wardrobe reminds you of the charm and character of this Victorian home.
Second Floor - The staircase curves upwards past a fully glazed door with its Juliet balcony to a versatile top floor suite. A wide window overlooks the attractive garden below and offers sweeping views over the roof tops and on towards the sea and the i360.
Mixing crisp white walls, wood floors and glass bricks, the room offers plenty of height and space and its recessed cupboards provide plenty of discreet storage in the eaves. Demi glazed wood bi-fold doors open onto an en suite shower room where a stainless steel towel radiator adds a modern finishing touch.
Outside - To the front of the property an easy to maintain paved garden creates a welcoming first impression.
French doors open from the kitchen onto the greenery of a lovingly tended yet easy to maintain south-facing rear garden. Two decked areas offer plenty of space for entertaining and relaxing on warm summer afternoons while a well-kept lawn is encompassed by beds with their mature mix of Photinia, firs and Hebe helping to create an idyllic and peaceful oasis.
A shed offers an ideal place to keep bikes and an additional storage room runs alongside the kitchen offering additional work space and storage.
What The Owners Say - "When we first saw this house nine years ago it was a combination of the location and the layout that made us fall in love with it.
For a family the location is perfect. We're really close to four schools so the children can stay in the area throughout their school days. Preston Park station is great for commuting, it's only ten minutes away on foot and when it comes to local shops we're incredibly well served here. The local shops in Fiveways include a choice of lovely local coffee shops as well as a baker, a butcher and a greengrocer.
When we opened the front door on that first visit we loved the fact that we could see down the hallway, through the kitchen and out to the garden. That was something we thought we'd never find in a home again.
The kitchen/diner is probably the favourite room in the house, we spend most of our time there and together with the garden it feels like two rooms rolled into one.
The views from the top floor are beautiful and the living room is a great space for the children to play board games at one end while we relax in the other. The top floor gives the children their privacy, they can disappear up there whilst still being close at hand and we'll miss that element of height and space.
The road itself is really family friendly and we've had lots of street parties over the years. We'll definitely miss the community feeling chatting to our neighbours as we walk to school each morning. We're staying in the area because we love it so much."
