Tenure: Freehold

Nestling in 1.025 acres of grounds and surrounded by fields, you feel you are deep in rural Kent yet it is only about a 1.25 miles to Canterbury city centre. Built 8 years ago by a builder for himself, the quality, finish and individuality are outstanding with the flexible accommodation and stunning entertainment and living space providing the ultimate wow factor. From the moment you walk through the beautiful wood and glass front door and see the light and bright curved entrance hall you will be entranced and once into the vast main living space you will be awestruck by the huge vaulted ceiling, exposed beams and semi-circular brick wall illuminated to suit your mood. There is a veritable wall of windows, patio doors and bi folding doors looking out across the large, wraparound terrace and to the fields beyond. At one end there is a beautifully fitted kitchen with two integrated ovens, built in microwave, fridge/freezer, ceramic hob and a marble topped central island with a circular wood breakfast bar and adjacent utility room. There are 2 double bedrooms one with en suite bathroom and one with a shower room. Above these rooms is the master bedroom suite with balcony, overlooking the kitchen and main living space. It includes a large bedroom, gym area and a great view, both a ‘his’ and ‘hers’ walk in wardrobe and dressing room as well as a sauna and a bathroom with both a bath and a walk in double shower. At the other end of this amazing family home is a relaxing TV room/separate sitting room with beautifully fitted shelving, a feature brick wall and doors to the garden, while next door is a well-equipped office providing a very useful hideaway if you want to work undisturbed. Above these rooms is the guest wing which includes a balcony overlooking the living room, a double bedroom, en suite and walk in dressing area. Outside the Italian stone patios surrounding the house provide wonderful al fresco entertainment areas while the large driveway allows for the parking of numerous vehicles. The stable block makes an excellent storage facility as well as a useful workshop. The garage block has been converted into 2, 1 bedroom rental units but could be used for family members or staff in the future if required.

What the Owner says:

We moved here primarily because of the location and the fact that the house is both ultramodern but has plenty of individual character, which is a rare combination. We love being able to look out across the countryside and watch the local wildlife but still be able to walk into Canterbury in 20 minutes and, as we go to France regularly, we wanted to be fairly near Dover and the Channel Tunnel. There are plenty of lovely walks and cycle rides around us while the village of Bridge is only a minute away with its excellent pubs, shops and first rate primary school. We will be sorry to leave but we are returning to our home in France.
We love entertaining and have enjoyed hosting numerous parties here – we can have some 50 guests to a party and there is still plenty of room and, having a separate guest suite, means we are not all on top of each other.
It is very useful to have under-floor heating on the ground floor and the central vacuum and skirting board dust collection system is a real boon. We can also enjoy different coloured mood lighting and we feel very safe with the high quality security video systems installed around this wonderful, contemporary home.
