Agents Remarks - The Old Church School was built by the Grosvenor Estate in 1849 being a separate boys and girl's school replacing the earlier school which was demolished in 1848. The property was altered in 1889 with the design of a new building of an additional classroom between the two original classrooms that were retained as outer wings. The work was undertaken by Douglas and Minchal Architects of Chester for the Halkyn Estate of the Duke of Westminster, following which the school was sold to the Diocesan of St Asaph in 1912 and closed when Ysgol Rhos Helyg opened in Rhosesmor in 1953. The property was purchased from the Church by the current owners and converted to commercial use in the 1980's and is Grade II listed.
