Full description

Tenure: Freehold

Set well back from the lane along a private driveway, this superb Grade II listed cottage simply oozes character and charm.

Having undergone a programme of refurbishment by the current owners, the property now provides cosy and welcoming accommodation, with solid oak flooring, exposed beams, stone and brickwork.

The surprisingly practical layout includes a stunning living room with Inglenook fireplace, a good sized dining room ideal for family get togethers and even a study with stable door opening onto the rear garden - great for someone who works from home.

The kitchen features integrated appliances and there is a useful downstairs cloakroom, very rare for a cottage of this age.

Both bedrooms are doubles and the bathroom is huge!

Close to some excellent countryside and with the village pub just around the corner, the location feels very relaxing. However, all local amenities, including two supermarkets, a range of shops, cafes, doctors and dentist are all to be found in nearby Pulborough, which also has a mainline railway station with direct access to London and Gatwick.

What the Owner says:

We moved here about eleven years ago from Surrey, as we were keen to enjoy the peace and quiet of the South Downs area.

As a project, the cottage needed a lot of updating and improvement. Being Grade II listed we took great care to do this sensitively, making the most of the wealth of period features.

At the same time, we landscaped the gardens, which are now a lovely place to entertain family and friends.

We'll be sad to leave our delightful home and hope the next owners enjoy life here as much as we have.
