Sansomes Cottage is a quintessential Grade II listed thatched cottage, part Georgian and Victorian, possibly of earlier origins but now with a 19th century mellow brick façade. There are sash and casement windows and on the front are two fascinating small square projecting bays with Gothic arched windows. The main roof was re-thatched in water reed in 2011, in January 2016 it was re-ridged and combed and the flat roof to the rear was replaced and certain lead work renewed. Other works have included the relaying of new drains, replacing the power shower, redecorating throughout and rebuilding the garage and adjoining barn. The interior is full of charm and character. A ledged front door opens into a Georgian sitting room which has a fireplace and clay oven and a wide arch and steps lead down into the Victorian sitting room making one room, ideal for entertaining. Off the rear hall is a breakfast/dining room which houses the boiler and this rooms opens directly into the fitted kitchen which has oak panel fronted units and various appliances.
